How do i stop getting pointless notifications from applications on Facebook?

All these really stupid applications keep notifying me and it's driving me crazy! How do I stop them?

All you have to do is go to the settings link and hit either account settings of privacy setting [i cant remember which one] and then go from there... it'll probably be under notifications!

go to settings-account-notifications and turn them off.

Easiest way is to highlight the notification, a small "X" will appear, click it to hide all notifications from that application & you won't get them anymore.

Alternately, go to Settings>Account Settings>Notifications and turn them off.

on the notification box, there's a thing called "see all"
the page it will take you to will give you options to fix this.
