Poll: Do you protect your tweets (on twitter) or make them public?

I've kept mine private for a few months now and thinking of making them public again and was wondering if those who use twitter have ever gone from having them protected to making them public or vice versa.

I HATE private Twitters. It's so annoying. Why the hell do you have a Twitter in the first place? To talk to your friends? Use Facebook, or just actually talk to them. The only reason to use Twitter is to post random information about yourself while pretending people care.

i dont see the big deal in allowing others to read them to be honest.
