Married people (preferably men, but women can answer too)...why'd he lie?

I know I've already asked, but I need more answers.

I'll try to keep it short. I've been close with my friend "Alicia's" family for over a year. I have her whole immediate family on Facebook. They all used to play this game on there called "Nightclub City", except after a while only her parents played it and so did/do I.

Several months ago, her dad started sending me "drinks" on there (this was back before you got energy on there for sending people things). I didn't think too much of it. One day, he sent a few drinks and a wink and that's when I started getting confused. I sent them back, just for the hell of it and we ended up sending them back and forth for months. At one point, he sent over 20 drinks and winks. One day, I was over at their house and Alicia's mom was sitting by Alicia's dad at the computer. For SOME reason, he decided to check his Nightclub City notifications while she was sitting right there and he had some from me. I acted like I wasn't paying attention, though I overheard him tell her "she sends them to me, so I just send them back" (which is a total lie because he sent both things to ME first) and he jokingly claimed I was trying to turn him into an alcoholic. I didn't say anything because again, I was pretending not to pay attention. He stopped sending them for a while, but sent them again 2 months later and he just began sending them again a couple days ago, just one drink and one wink.

Does this seem odd to you in any way? Why would he lie about it? I'm 20, he's about 20 years older than me or so.
Actually, he flirts with me a lot outside of the game.

Hi ya. I wouldn't worry to much. I think he is just having a bit of a laugh with you. He lied because his wife was no doubt a tad jealous and it just covered his ass and stopped him getting grief over what is just a little teeny weeny bit of flirting. He is not perverse or anything he is just having a laugh and remembering his old ego days when he could send a pretty girl a drink.

Just play along, roll your eyes and say to yourself silly old bugger :-)

He lied because he doesn't want to get in trouble with his wife. It seems odd that you are so caught up in this game and this married man. I would stay away from him unless you want to cause trouble.
