What is this boy doing, help please?

Okay so about 7 months ago or even more me and this boy started getting really really close, he was just a dream and way to go for me! We never officially went out, because we lived so far away that we both know it would be to hard and we couldnt see eachother much, but in our heads we were together. We even told eachother we loved eachother, and i've never had someone care about me as much as he did, he kept telling me how i was his everything and had a way with words i cant explain, he sent me songs like "bruno mars- amazing" and told me hourly how beautiful i was, and often got worried i was going to find someone close and better. It was really a big huge mess! but i loved it! Anyway, i went on holiday for 3 weeks and i thought well this is going to be the end of this mess he'll get bored i wont be able to talk to him. but when i came back he'd sent me messages and drawn me pictures, and said how he'd missed me so much its unbearable and how he wanted to see me again. Things got better and better, until about 2 months ago where he started getting blunt he still called me "baby" but instead of i love you he'd say "ly" and conversations would last about 2 minuets,

I stopped talking to him for about 1 week and just gave up, he never talked first, not with anyone i know that for a fact. But he just seemed like he wanted to be friends now everytime i talked to him, he was talking to TONS of other beautiful girls so i just gave up, and stopped making the effort. 3 weeks pasted and i still miss talking to him, i chose not to talk to him not even as a friend cause it was hard. but it was his birthday so i said "hiya, having a good birthday" no reply he changed his msn settings too "not gonna talk, cba **** off" that was it, i decided i wont try again. Then today he started liking all my facebook pictures again, puting little hearts and someone wrote on my wall "you're really shy but sooo cute" and he liked it, i had 10 notifications all from him. Im confused now, why would he start liking everything of mine? compliments like "you're very pretty and sweet" he liked? and one of my friends said "love you" he liked that aswell, i dont get it?? i dont want to say hello to him, cause he might ignore me again. But i do miss him a lot. HELP?

I think you should message him one more time - for example
"Hey, haven't spoken to you much recently. It's been a while, how are you?"
See if he responds to that. If he does, then see what happens. wait and see if he asks you to meet up. If he doesn't reply, he might be playing games with you - and if that's the case, you wouldn't want to be with him anyway, because he isn't worth it. I'd say give it one more shot!

If you really don't want to contact him, just carry on not responding and see how he reacts. If he really wants to talk, he knows how to get hold of you.
