Many companies, because of consumers are going green. People are caring more about the environment and companies can capitalize on this by stating that they're eco-friendly. We're seeing this more and more with companies even using the recycle symbol on certain products.

These separate, piece-meal initiatives on their own are unlikely to influence consumer perception of a company's products or a company's image dimensions. They need to be incorporated within an over-arching Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy or Corporate Sustainability Strategy. This is because a well-executed CSR strategy will embrace all stakeholders e.g. staff, shareholders, customers, local residents etc and has a much better chance of awareness breakthrough.
