What projects could a student MARKETING CLUB take on?

HI, I'm looking into starting a student marketing club at our University. What kind of projects or activities do you think our club could be capable of taking on.

My suggestion is to combine an older fundamental marketing concept with a newer one. Specifically, Direct Marketing (using a marketing database to drive & track campaigns) & the internet. This, along with social networking sites is the fastest growing field in marketing.

As I have advised other first time & aspiring Marketers, chose something simple from which you can learn, share & build on. An example would to find a readily available product or service. This can be brainstormed among the club members. What ideas, products services are available through the membership (& their network). You'll be surprised how many ideas are generated. From there, do your research. What marketing channels will you try? How will you track & evaluate results? How do you minimize costs & maximize revenues, especially in the early going.

For instance, let's say someone's Grandmother has great recipes collected over many years. These could be marketed by food category, by season or occasion, etc. Many other considerations come in to play but this might give you a point of beginning. Hope this helps. Dan D
