New to twitter help me!?

I am new to twitter and don't quite understand it. I am following a few people but how do comment on their tweets? Do they have to follow you to be able to do that? And do i need to be on the full site to change my profile picture? I have been using my phone and don't see the option. Any other new twitter account advice u can give would be helpful.

Welcome to Twitter! It is a bit overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it can be really fun and useful.

To reply to a tweet you would click Reply from Twitter or your chosen Twitter application (Hootsuite and Tweetdeck are two popular ones) Or you can manually type a message with their @username and they will see it.

Keep in mind that these types of replies are public and anyone who is following you will be able to read them. To send a private reply you must use the Direct Message feature.

To change your profile pic you may need to go to the full site if you are using a third-party app for Twitter on your phone.
