Is it the applications on Facebook that cause the viruses, or is it the site itself?

I want to know if it is safe to go on Facebook if i don't use any applications.

Hey there buddy! Ok, the site itself is virus free, but some of the applications there contain spyware/adware and sometimes they install stuff in your pc that is dangerous!
Now it is difficult to discern the good applications from the harmful ones, so what you can do is check out the reviews of applications before you install them to see if they are dangerous or not
Ps- I have not really installed any applications apart from the default ones from fb

i have used facebook and most of the applications and have never had a problem. you'll def be fine if you never use applications but i think you're safe to use those too

Nothing has happened to our computer after using these apps. Other games & apps, we haven't tried (not enough time).
