GPRS what does it mean on my blackberry?
I just got a blackberry, and am on tesco> next to my signal bar it says GPRS> i havae twitter and was wondering even if I am signed in to twitter or facebook or have downloaded any other free apps< will it charge me when im not using them? thanks

you will have to pay for gprs - it is basically your internet ( using facebook and twitter or downloading apps will use gprs unless you connect to a wifi e.g home or internet cafe

unless you have internet/data included in your contract you will be charged for using gprs

or if you are on pay as you go it will charge you anyway

you can probably turn gprs(packet data) off in your settings

GPRS is basically 1G of carrier internet access. Then there is EDGE (2G), 3G & 4G (which I assume you have at least heard of being mentioned).
The difference among them is speed. 4G is faster than 3G which is faster than EDGE which is faster than GPRS.

Anything done using GPRS/EDGE/3G/4G will be charged for through your carrier.
