Features I would like to see in the new iPod Touch that hasnt come out yet?

GPS
Vibration (feedback from games, silent notification of updates)
Compass
FM radio transceiver (the iPod is after all an mp3 player, designed to offer music)
Auto-focus camera (preferably with zoom and higher resolution)
Stylus and handwriting recognition software (the old handheld devices like Palm had it)
Voice recognition software that doesnt strictly apply to the Music folder.
Adobe Flash animation player for the web browser.

I want to see multi-tasking abilities. Im tired of one app terminating just because I get a notice in another. I should be able to run social networking apps like Facebook without it automatically disconnecting every ten minutes without warning.

I want to see some obvious features that youd call trivial, what youd expect from pretty much any modern device - like a battery power "percent remaining" indicator. This indicator, by the way, already does exist within the iPod, but was removed deliberately by Apple - you have to jailbreak to activate it.

Inbuilt limitations is another thing Id like to see removed. The ability to install third-party apps that havent been "approved" by Apple.

The ability to delete Apples pre-installed junk apps

A Remote app that works, and wont constantly disconnect from my iTunes. A Remote app that wont spend ten minutes searching for the iTunes it was just connected to, to tell me finally that it doesnt exist.

External pocket-size folded keyboard to dock with the device, which can unfold out into a real keyboard. (old handheld devices like Palm had it)

A youtube video I watched spoke of photo editing software in the 4th gen that comes pre-installed. I have the 4th gen but I dont have photo editing software

Some of those features you describe are already in in the latest updates but maybe i am missing what you are saying.

One thing about Apple though is they love complete control -- so as to better manage the experience (and make more money) -- and so allowing full 3rd-party install freedom is never going to happen.

It a toss up whether Flash will be put in at this point since Apple is the big pusher behind HTML5. And honestly Flash should die already since it is clunky and slow and HTML is fast and better. But if Apple cracks and goes Flash then Adobe has pretty much secured Flash's future forever.
