Is it best to debate on yahoo answers and not argue with people about politics or religeon on facebook?

I noticed people are quick to call each other stupid, ignorant, and racist depending on the issue.
But I see people with 5,000 frineds say wahtever the hell they want and they get hundreds up likes. or people agreeing just because they are some bodybuilder or model.

I'm wonderin if its best to keep things like conspiracy talk off facebook too?
