Why won't anyone hire me? Even the bottom jobs ignore me?
I'm 17, and I'm looking a first job. I don't really need a job, but I'd like one to give me something to do.

I've been filling out applications to places since August 2011. I've walked into stores and got applications, I've also did online applications. But all I ever get is, "Oh we'll be hiring this month BLAH BLAH..."

The online applications always send me a direct message that I was rejected because I didn't meet the needs of the survey. LIKE WTF!!?

How am I going to get experience if you don't want to hire someone who doesn't have experience?

I use Snag-a-job and indeed jobs. Sometime I go on the local malls website, because they put up what stores are currently hiring.

Why won't anyone hire me? I see the bummiest kids in school get jobs, and why not me???

WHAT IS THE POINT OF SAYING YOU'RE HIRING, IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO HIRE PEOPLE!!?

I've applied at McDonald's more than once. Same thing with Dunkin Donuts, Burger King, and a Wendy's.

I've also applied at local retail stores.

:'(

I'm about to just sell drugs or something.

Delete anything in facebook, myspace, twitter, etc.
You will be surprised how employers check this.
Get a resume together. No matter how short.
Stick to fast food to gain customer service experience.

Ask if any family friends might be lloking for junior employees. Go into restaurants and ask about washing dishes. Make a resume and apply at places in person with tidy looking attire and a friendly smile.

The best way to find a job is to know people.
Talk to family, friends, teachers, fellow church members, etc and ask them if they are aware of a position for you.

This is called networking.

The answers that the other users have given you are here are spot on and I agree with them, but might I ad, you have never had any kind of paid employment. Maybe thats why they aren't considering you, I don't mean that in a nasty way but they are not considering you as you don't have work experience. The best way to get work experience is by volunteering at a charity of you choice like Oxfam for example, once you volunteer there you could put that onto your CV and list the duites and what you do there. Also once you get a voluntary placement you will be learning things, improving your current skills and learning new ones, you will quickly learn about the world of work. This will give you more confidence and an employer will be more likely to interview you if they see that you are volunteering.

Maybe do a few days a week at a charity for maybe at least 3 hours a day, after doing all of this hopefully you will soon move into paid employment, it will really increase your chances.

I hope I have helped, good luck.
