Is it legal to get a work suspension for something said via Facebook?
A girl wrote me via Facebook saying she would go down to my job asking for an application. I called her a dumb bitch and said all positions have been filled. She printed the page and took down to my work, where my boss then suspended me for something said via Facebook.
(I work in a resturant) P.S I know this was wrong of me to say but I was really tired of people asking me for jobs and I just snapped. Nothing was said on company computers. Ads |

Completely legal, especially when you are talking about your job. Facebook is a public domain and anything you do not want your employer to see you do not want to put it on there, regardless of whether it was publicly posted or in an email.
ETA: It doesn't matter where you put it on the computer. Even if you are off work and at home or the library, when you tell someone about work, doing drugs, anything illegal, etc. your employer can hold you accountable up to being fired. |

Wow I love you must be great at customer service!
In jobs like yours you have to accept people are going to asking for jobs left, right and center. If you are fired I hope you dont ask someone like yorself for a job- karma blows! |
