Is there a way to tell if someone is stalking your facebook profile?
The reason why I am asking is because there's an ex coworkers profile who keeps popping up saying I may know this person. We don't have any mutual friends, no common interests listed at all. Is this pure coincidence? It just doesn't make sense. And that person does not have anything listed under Jobs, so even that we don't have in common. I find It strange.

When you use Facebook, you usually chat and connect with family members, friends or co-workers. Sometimes, a person appears in your Friend List whom you have never met before. If this person repeatedly tries to contact you and sends you odd messages, you may be a victim of Facebook stalking. Facebook stalkers range from annoying to potentially dangerous. Those who stalk you violate your privacy and disrupt your Facebook experience. Facebook stalkers are often identifiable by their strange behavior.

Difficulty:Moderately EasyInstructions

1
Examine the comments you receive on your page. If several messages are from the same person, that person may be stalking you. This is especially true if the comments seem strange or intrusive.

2
Notice who contacts you through Facebook Chat. A stalker may repeatedly try to contact you, even if you stop responding to them. If you ask the person how he knows you, and he says he met you somewhere but he is vague about the details, this is likely a stalker.

3
Comb through your Friends List. The people listed at the top of your Friends List are those that look at your profile and talk to you the most. If you see an unfamiliar name on the list, it is possible that the person is stalking you.

4
Examine your Notifications. Notifications alert you when someone wants to play a game or interact with you. They can appear on your Facebook page as well as your cellphone. If you get frequent Notifications from the same unknown person, that person may be a stalker.

5
Determine if you have blocked the potential stalker before. If you were previously bothered by a person and blocked them, the person may have registered for a new account with a different name in order to contact you. Read the person's messages carefully and compare them to messages that you received from the blocked individual to see if they were sent from the same person.

That is strange. Facebook is fucked up sometimes. I don't think there is a way to tell if people are "stalking" you or not without getting spammed. Tongue
Some of the people I've meant accuse anyone of stalking just because you talk to them when you're friends. So it seems like everyone has an opinion of what "stalking" is or maybe its just annoying teenage girls Tongue
But, it might just be conincidence or maybe he had his former job listed before and just took it off when he wasn't there anymore and Facebook figures you know him\her.
That's the only answer I can think of.
Hope I could help!
