Why is nobody replying to my tweets?

A week ago I created a private twitter account, followed a few people and account, followed a few people and replied to their tweets. I don't have a single follower or mention! Is it because my profile is private? I don't have a Bio because I don't want spam tweets/followers

Yeah, people can't reply to private accounts but they can follow you if they want so I suggest you make it public - you won't get spam tweets unless you give out your twitter passwords to other sites. Also change what your Twitter page looks like so it's interesting for other people to see it, for example if you like Harry Potter, the colour green and turtles; make the background HP related, the theme colours green and your picture a turtle. That way people will know what you have in common.
