Forced government madated private insurance is going to result in massive social regulation.

Banned Fast Food, Banned Drugs, etc.

Do you realize socialism results in social regulation?

There is no mechanism by which the increased social regulation would take place. Therefore, your premise is faulty.

Private insurance by definition isn't socialism. I support a government run system of health care that is cheaper than for profit health care.

Social regulation would be things like banning a person's right to have an abortion.

Correct. For the far left and the far right it is all about control.

I think it is odd that liberals now stand for the loss of their individual rights.

-Banned Fast Food? Cripes that`s stupid.
-Banned Drugs? Considering how unethical and corrupt and abusive Big Pharma is, that`s not a bad idea

What you fail to understand is that without regulations Corporations are allowed to run amok and do the most damage socially, et all. But hey, you keep listening to FOX and pretend that everything is peachy-keen.

Fast food is already being banned or limited in schools due to the high obesity rate in kids and I have no problem with helping a kid not develop diabetes or have a heart attack at 30. More than half of adults are now considered obese. They might want to consider keeping their asses out of McDonald's anyway. Drugs have been banned for years by the FDA. If they don't want to approve a drug, it doesn't go on the market. They also take drugs off the market if they're unsafe or causing deaths. Lastly, the U.S. isn't headed towards socialism. It's scare tactics for the uninformed.

When there is a loss of economic freedom soon follows a loss of individual freedom, with that I do agree with you. However "socialism" is not the case here "yet". What has taken place is corporatism, better known as fascism. The government sponsoring big business and bailing them out is exactly that. Our government is bringing forth the perfect economic storm that will be apocalyptic to this country and it's republic, they will again blame the free market for the devastating crash that will be in almost every sector of the economy and even the currency. Than centralized economic planning will probably follow (History has shown this). People will fall for this, because they will place the blame on the capitalist system which hasn't evenexisted in this country in decades.

Unfortunately, those who say we are uninformed, or misinformed, live in delusion. They believe they obtain knowledge that is truly non existent. They see only what's given to them through the "box", but fail to look beyond that. If they where as truly knowledgeable as they think they are or as intelligent, they would cease watching the "box" and strive to understand our monetary system, and the fuzzy numbers the government gives us. They would realize that our debt to GDP is not at 89%, but 3-4x that of GDP. That inflation is severly understated, and GDP is severly overstated. The only reason this countries monetary system hasn't collapsed is because the USD is the reserve currency of the world, and China keeps buying our debt. They have to come to realize that this decade will be far, far worse than the last.
