How do i delete a facebook application?

How do i delete a facebook application?
Like FishVille or Island Paradise.
I go to Applications and delete it, but then i get notifications that people are stealing my fruit on Island Paradise or sending me gifts on FIshVille.. which means to them it looks like i still have it.

How do i get rid of it FOR GOOD.. GONE.. FOREVER?

Go to Application Settings on the upper right corner of your Facebook homepage. Click X on those applications you want to remove to permanently delete them.
