Facebook applications question--how do they work?

[Stuck in the Middle Ages]

I've gotten lots of requests from friends on Facebook--to join snowball fights, have drinks, have green patches, take quizzes, etc.

Are all these applications safe? Are they part of Facebook?

I'm not sure it's worth my time, but I'd at least like to figure out what the heck's going on.

As my name implies, I'm not old, but I'm not young anymore either.

yeah theyre completely safe. theyre supposed to be changing that so its not as like formal and like a life changing decision. lol if you add them they are just one of your applications. for instance i have the bumper sticker application which just means i can send and recieve bumper stickers. also i have the optical illision application so when they post new ones i can view them.

They are perfectly safe. They are just there for people who have nothing better to do. && Most are apart of facebook.
