How do i block games and invites notifications on Facebook?

The past 2 weeks everytime someone sends me an invite to an event or sends me a request for a game, i get it as a notification on the top. in the past it would simply show up on the left part of the page, but now it shows up as a notification on top in red! what the hell do i do to stop this crap, i went to -->account --> settings --> notifications, but for some reason they dont provide you the option on the check boxes to control notifications for game requests and event invites
how do i put an end to this crap period! i dont want any answers telling me to block individual ppl from sending me requests and invites, because i got over 2000 friends

Next time someone sends you one, select the X box next to the accept box. It then asks if you want to block the app from sending to you.

Go to the thing on the side that shows your invites to all the games and hit the little x that appears in the corner. It will give you the option to block it.
You can also go to the application home page and block it. Its on the left side kinda at the bottom of everything.
