Why must I have a Social Security Number to get a job?

Isn't it better to just work for my selft pay next to nothing in income taxes and social security taxes?
So I don't really need a social security number unless I plan to work for someone else?

Sadly, the government want's their money and a convenient way to track you. Self-employed people still must pay SUTA, so unless you intend to accept only cash and fail to report income, we're stuck with paying into a bankrupt Social Security system. I am assuming that all the money I've paid in will be squandered.

You need an SS number to do your taxes and to pay into SS. You have to file an income tax statement every year.

One of the problems is that you can not get anything, not even credit if you do not have a Social Security card. You mentioned working for yourself paying minimal income and social security taxes. Well you need to have a Social Security card to even do this.

You could work for yourself and evade paying any and all taxes but that will only get you thrown into jail for tax evasion. Not only will they throw you into jail they will take anything that you might own for the taxes that you failed to pay.

If everyone in the world were required to have a social security number, I would think that this would truly be the "Mark of the Beast" that you hear so much about from the Bible. It really does seem that, at least in this country, you can not buy or sell anything without having that stupid number.

You can not even claim your children as exemptions unless they have, or a SS card has been applied for.

In the grand scheme of things, you are not an individual, you are a number.

You are owned by the Bond market. The taxes are for the Bond owners; the people who own you. Your social security is being taken away so that more money can go towards the Bond owners.

Every citizen (slave) has to have a unique personal identifier or "Social Security Number" so that they can be tracked by the police state. The police state will come after you if you try to avoid paying taxes or opting out.
