Anyone know how to stop getting MafiaWar and Farmville updates on facebook?

When just looking at your News Feed? It happens a lot more on my BlackBerry than on my actual computer when I'm on facebook but nonetheless it happens. Is there a way to get rid of this?

thats not true, if you have the application then ur stuck with it but if you dont want the updates then you have to delete that applications on the applications list.

The next time you see a Mafia Wars or FarmVille post in your News Feed, run your mouse over it. You should see the word "Hide" show up in the upper right-hand corner of the post.

Click on "Hide." The post will disappear, and you will see three buttons: "Hide [name of friend]" "Hide Farmville" and "Cancel." Click on "Hide Farmville" (or "Hide Mafia Wars") and your News Feed won't display any more of these posts until you scroll down to the bottom of your feed, click on "Edit Options" and add these applications back in. You can also filter your friends out of your feed by clicking on "Hide [name of friend]," or you can just hide a single post by not clicking on any more buttons.

I'm not really sure why being on your Blackberry would make a difference. Perhaps it's just coincidence - your friends might just tend to be playing FarmVille the same times you are on your Blackberry.

Now, if you signed up for one of these games and you want to stop getting notifications, click on your "Notifications" button - it's now the little world icon in the upper left part of the screen. Then click on "See all notifications." On the right-hand side you will see a box labelled "Applications I've Authorized." If you don't want them to send you notifications, uncheck the box in front of each unwanted application.

And if you just don't want anything more to do with these apps at all, head over to your "Account" button and go to "Application Settings." Click on the little "X" to the right of each authorized application, and you'll delete it from your list of applications. This is a good idea to do periodically, especially for the little one-time games (like "What's my Patronus" etc) so they don't have access to your personal data any more.

Yes. If you have these apps, then all you have to do is delete them from your profile. You can do this by going to "application settings" under account at the top right. Click on the blue x to remove the app.

Or just click on "ignore" "block this application" Or "ignore all app invites from this friend" whenever you get an application invite.

OR.

Go to the top of your profile under notifications. Click on see all notifications. Look on the right, under apps you've authorized. Uncheck the ones you don't want to recieve updates from anymore.
