Does privating my tweets affect my previous followers?
If I make my tweets private, would it remove all my previous followers? Would my previous followers have to request to follow?

no, everything will remain the same. nothing will effect your previous follower. Previous follower will not have to request to follow again. It applicable to the new follower. I hope this is useful.
