The good things about Facebook are:

Communication- you get to chat with other people for free privately or with a group and you get to comment with other people. You can even meet new people online and get yourself a nice chat.

Self expression- you can put your videos pictures for people to see as well as write what you think is in your mind or what's fancy.

Advertising- you could advertise your products, services and even yourself online by creating a Facebook page.

Well the bad things, someone could basically put false personal info in there, fake names, age, status, you name it, someone can fake it. Having strangers as friends isn't bad but having thousands of strangers as friends can put you on a greater risk that someone might hack into your account, even close people can hack you, take advantage of it and use it to destroy you.

Hackers have made a way to tag people to nasty pictures just recently and I was a victim of it. People can even tag you to pictures or videos you don't want others to see unless you configure your setting to make this not possible. Facebook greatly compromises privacy. There are even couples who could use their partner's accounts which is sometimes bad if she doesn't want what he posted to her wall when he used her account. I've seen other people do that.

There are also those games, they consume your time online other than doing something else of more significance. And I know many people have not configured their Facebook notification settings. By the default notification settings, it sends an email for almost every Facebook event that involves you to your email address where your Facebook account is registered to. I've seen people have their Yahoo Mail inboxes filled with hundreds Facebook notification emails. Others who left their notification settings untouched would have had thousands upon thousands of useless emails in their inboxes!!! This would take too much time to delete. You could be a victim of this too.

But, you be the judge of what's good and what's bad. Most of us had our experiences with Facebook.

Good - Allows you to interact with others. This is the only good think I can think up of.
Bad - It distracts you from homework (like me XD) and there might be pedophiles or stalkers trying to get your information. Be wary if you are a child.
