I was too. Now I just message everyone to meet up and actually hang out in person.
If that doesn't help try deactivating the facebook for a while.

Find some hobbies like football or basket ball and you can't change any thing in your life unless you change your self, meaning that you WILL NOT stop taking dru- I mean open facebook unless you have the strong will to do it

Ask help from a friend

you know it is important to be active and check you message and facebook email in other to stay up to date.
it is important to respond to your friends post and comment. but these days people are not there for only checking on the email, message, status, and their friends status. people can be in facebook for other reason too. for example facebook game, facebook pages. shopping pages and other things.

to eliminate some of your time just think what things are not as important.
you don'y have to stop quit using facebook by one day. stop using facebook bit by bit. as time passes use less and less.

other options.
you can activate mobile message notification. which allows you to see what happened and what you have received. it keep you up to date. when something happening you will get a free message and all you have to is just read the text. that way you can do your other works and when you read the message and you found out that is not that important to login to facebook then leave it. that way you will say a lot of time..................
