I'd say that Americans have become more likely to share personal information with anyone. Rather than leading more private lives, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media sites essentially bare all information about a person to the entire world. Think about it: you post everything on your twitter or Facebook, from "I'm eating a bagel" to "I just got engaged!" and all of the little things in between. The internet has revolutionized how we handle things that used to be entirely private.
