My X husband doesn't want to pay spousal support due the crisis in the stock market ?
He has over $800,000 in a managed investment account, gets social security disability payments and disability pension from a union. All of which he had prior to settlement of divorce 2 years ago.He now claims that paying me $500.a month is causing him to no longer be able to survive financially, due to the crisis in the financial markets. He also claims it is depleting his investment income.

My question is will a judge allow this to be grounds to reduce or relieve a spousal obligation?

What "obligation" does he owe you anyway? 2 years already? Go get a job, make your own money. If you wanted his income, maybe you shouldn't have gotten divorced. And maybe he's telling the truth, how do you know? I like how you're concerned with how it affects YOU, but not how paying YOU is affecting HIM. This is a perfect example of why spousal support is a joke.
