why won't my facebook notifications go off of my blackberry bold?

i just got the phone yesterday, and i downloaded the facebook application. at the top (where i can set my volume) it says 2F and it's blue like the app. i've been on facebook and i have no new notification,and it won't go off. any advice?

Maybe you have to enable your sound notifications in your sound profile. Just go to sounds, scroll down to "Advanced," and edit your profiles. For example, from "Advanced," hit "Loud," go to "Browser," and edit the options. If this doesn't help, then something's disabled.
