Twitterific for Twitter help?

On twitterific (the iPod app for Twitter) what is the difference between 'reply to' and 'message for'
if I use either, would the message I send go to person I want to read it?

'reply to' means you are replaying for tweet and it will appear on your twitter page, will be visible for all.
message for' means it is direct message for the person and will not appear in your or their twitter page.
