Why is the market economy the most common economic system?
Why is the market economy the most common economic system?
In social studies class we are talking about "types of economic systems" and one question is "why is the market economy the most common economy?

Because it allows freedom for people to make their own choices. A market economy just means that the supply and demand, and thus the prices of goods are based off the actions of the consumer. It is basically the most "free" economic system. The next being a mixed economy where the government plays some role, and then communism, where you have no rights to make free choices on where you work, what you'll buy, how much you can buy, how much it will cost. This is no way to have economic freedom (the proof that all so called communist nations have had capitalist market-reforms so that their economies will begin to actually work, unlike communism), and economic freedom is a must if personal freedom is expected to follow. I would say it's the most common because most people believe in freedom.
