Can a facebook application attach a virus to you're profile page?

I recently was on facebook and took a quiz "spongebob quiz" i allowed it to post on my profile and shorty after my browser froze and i was forced to terminate the process. I am using my macbook and Safari. My browser works fine as long as i'm not on facebook, but when i go on my profile page it freezes up every time. I would rather fix this problem than download an alternative browser such as firefox. Help much appreciated. -Mike

mike i'm running NORTON360 3.0 on a Eee PC i was given a web site by a contact for game cheats,while trying to download the site,NORTON stopped the download because it had a virus attached,hope this information helps you.
