Facebook is indexed on google, if you don't want disclose your phone number to anyone who can disturb you. You should not put your phone number or any contact detail on FB. But many persons wants to get connected with people (thier purpose usually is to marketing thierself). So consider yourself how you want to be on net.

I would sent an email to your friends instead on facebook, that is more secure.
