How do you remove the top friends application on facebook?

It says I have a top friend box but I dont want to have one and there is no way to delete that alone?I already clicked the hide button so you cant see that it is not on my profile any more? I am aware that you can just click the X button then click "remove application" but that is not possible because there is no where to view and get to that button. Please give me step by step directions and be specific

From the home page, underneath the search bar, click on the word "Applications" (or "edit", they take you to the same place). From their, you will see a list of all your applications. You will be able to remove "Top Friends" as well as any other apps you don't want.
