...You know, the "Ya-hoes"...people with random names and ages that want to connect with you and want "your private pics". Are these real people?

Yes, mainly they are stalkers that want your info so they can like find you and do something to you. That kind of thing happens on Facebook and Twitter all the time even though they try to prevent it.
