Why does my PC run slow when I go on Facebook?
OK, so my PC runs fine when I visit any other site, but as soon as I go on to Facebook, it runs really slow. I can be typing a status update, and nothing will appear, then after a pause, all the words I have typed will suddenly appear on the screen. I have deleted all pages/groups/applications, so all I have on their are comments from friends, but it is still running slowly. I have tried different browsers and it does the same.

Lol same pic! Try deleting unwanted or spammy file and/or programs from your pc. Then scan your pc for viruses rootkits and malicious software and delete all you find. It also may be just your ram or pc performance. download avg pc tune up and tune up your pc!

Facebook is used by millions of people at any given second. It's to be expected that it will be slow at times. I don't think it's your computer, it's them. Happens to me too once in a while, and I have a very fast computer.

It's called a server lag. You get the same effect on here sometimes when it's extremely busy.

I assume that you are living in the UK and therefore the Facebook servers are some 6,000 miles away from you.

Ive just pinged their servers and the ping is at the moment and it is 433 m/s

That is 0.433 of 1 second. Just under ½ second.

You type one character and it takes ½ second to send it and the response back from that server that it has received it. Chuck 10 characters at it in quick succession and you get a lag of 5 seconds before it appears on the screen.

Also if your own ISP servers are busy as well at the same time that will only aggravate it even more!

A bit rough and ready but that is how and why server lags happen
