Facebook, Mafia Wars Question?

Is there a way to make sure all notifications in game (Mafia Wars)
is sent out to mafia family, but doesn't bombard my friends list (especially
those who don't want to play a certain app... in this case Mafia Wars)???

Nope, the only way to do anything about it would be to ask your friends not playing Mafia Wars to "hide" the notifications. They can do that by right clicking one and clicking on hide, then to set it just for Mafia Wars. It is far easier to do than it is to explain.
