Tumblr is a microblogging platform that allows users to post text, images, videos, links, quotes and audio to their tumblelog, a short-form blog. Users can follow other users, or choose to make their tumblelog private. The service emphasizes ease of use.

Features:-

Tumblr's emphasis is on customization and ease of use, with a relatively simple sign-up process. There are many forms of content that can be added to the user's own tumblelog; the seven general categories for posts include Text, Photo, Quote, Link, Chat, Audio, and Video. Users "follow" other tumblelogs, much like on Twitter, and their updates appear in one stream on the Dashboard. This is the interface from which users can like and reblog posts, as well as add content to their own tumblelog. The "like" button lets one user tell another that they like his or her content, and the "reblog" button easily reposts content from one tumblelog onto another, providing positive feedback.

Many Tumblr users take advantage of the queue feature to post frequently, which allows users to save and schedule posts to automatically send in intervals decided by the user. Tumblr advertises it as "an easy way to keep your blog active and consistent." [15]

On March 15, 2010, the Tumblr staff blog announced that they were testing a feature that would allow direct video uploading. Previously, Tumblr could only host videos provided from an external host. Also, it recently added a feature that allows bloggers to add pages to their blog, allowing for more variety, organization, and flexibility with content

It's actually a very simple, fun and yes, addicting site. If you're considering changing your blog site, DON'T. You'll love it once you get into it. I'll explain how to get you started and you can branch off from there (:

First off, choose a theme. Some cost $$$, but most a free. If it says "premium", it costs money so unless you're wanting to buy one, don't bother with those.

Go here ---> http://www.tumblr.com/themes/recent

Choose a theme you like and click on it then click on "install" and it will install your theme for you.
Go to your profile and click customize. Click "info" and you can write your own bio and upload a picture of yourself. Next, if you want, click on "appearance" and look through there, some NOT ALL themes will let you upload your own background and header or change the font of the writing on your page, etc. You don't have to do all of that but if you want to add your own touch, go for it.

After you're done with that, you'll have a nice background up and the only thing left to do is post things. When you're on the homepage on tumblr, aka "dashboard" you'll see a bar that has the options "text", "photo", "quote", etc. If you want to write something, you choose text, want to post a picture? Press photo. It's very simple.

I know this is all a handful and might sound confusing but it's really not.

Why don't you go here ---> http://www.kissesofsunshine.tumblr.com

That's my Tumblr, when you go there if you'd like you can follow me (in the right hand corner there will be a button that says "follow", press it, if you want to follow me, of course) and if you need any more help or have any questions, under my picture and bio there is a button that says "everyone has a question, what's yours?", click that and ask whatever you need.

Hope I helped and good luck with your Tumblr. Remember, if you need anything just ask me (:
