What would happen in today's USA if a presidential candidate promised to have some policies like in 1965?
regarding the federal tax code, trade policy, balancing budgets, regulating banks and wall street, even having a per transaction tax on the stock market...etc. Furthermore, this candidate would even promise to have social services just like they were back in 1965 or better, and he promised that under his presidency no wars would be fought unless it was an actual declared war by congress..no police actions and no quasi wars.

What would happen to such a candidate?

Unfortunately he would not get elected, because the media would distort his record to the extent he would not get elected.

God forbid we have anybody actually making SENSE.
