We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.

We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships.

(environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.) But I guess they are in favor of environmental destruction and brutality and violence in defense of their cause. HYPOCRITES.

There are already laws on the books for the rest and the key is one has to work in order to enjoy the benefits of WORKING .

They certainly attempted to acquaint Americans with DSA ideology. Too bad for them the ugly truth was already in them and out there.

Lies are faster than truth. Truth is still stronger. It is still pretty clear that each outcropping of OWS was neither spontaneous nor locally bred. That each international occurrence was directly involved with the DSA parent organization. The Socialists International.

"At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end." Yep, there it is again Mob Rule. Notice what's Not mentioned in their little manifesto. The Constitution of the United States of America.

For the record, I'd guess about 10% of OWS were Libertarians and don't buy into that crap. They sure got out shouted by the unionistas, commies and freeloaders though.

The Occupy Wall Street and other Occupy movements, are not affiliated with DSA or any other political organization. Nor will the true Occupy movements allow to be co-opted by any political organization. For example, as noble as the "Occupy the Dream" movement sounds, it's not a true Occupy movement, as it's backed by Obama supporters, although they're trying to co-opt and hijack the true Occupy movement.

The Occupy movement is still developing, but one fulfillment to date has been that it has managed to bring discussion of issues in the forefront, that otherwise mainstream media would stay clear of.

"Occupy" is the 2011 media word of the year (source).
