what does revoke acces mean?

on twitter it says revoke access from different apps, does that mean for example if i have someone signed in to my account from uber social, and i revoke acces from there, they wont be signed in on my twitter any more? like will they be on my twitter?

"revoke access" literally means to cancel, take away, or remove a means of entry.

So it sounds as if Twitter is not allowing certain apps to get aboard (have access to) its site.
