Is it illegal to post of a picture of a guy asking you to send him nudes on twitter?
I live in Houston, TX. This guy that goes to my school messaged me on facebook asking me to send him nudes. I told him no about three different times. I posted a screenshot of the messages on twitter with the tag #never, mostly just to embarass him and show him to never pull that kind of stuff with me again. Well he freaked out about it and said that was illegal and that he was gonna call the cops. I didn't think that was illegal, I mean after all its just a picture of a conversation, there are no pictures in it or anything. Is what I did illegal? Please let me know soon!

Nope, not illegal at all, actually, in my opinion, it was an outstanding idea!!

Don't let him intimidate you into taking it down or tweeting a retraction.

Again, good job....

If you wanted, you could take a screenshot and post it on your wall on Facebook as well....

If you are under the age of 18, you might remind him that it was HIM that was asking YOU for child pornography......

It's not illegal at all. Unless you're defaming him (which requires a visible negative impact on his part like money loss, which is clearly not the case here), you cannot get in trouble. Especially since he was harassing you.

The biggest reason, of course, is that it's the internet; once it's on there, it's public. He should've thought twice about doing what he did.

Make sure you tell him this and consider letting the guy go if he apoligizes.

Your action is not illegal, and his might very well be.
Dare him to call the Cops.

Look at websites like DYAC and Unfriendable. They all share screenshots.

Cyberharassment usually pertains to threatening or harassing email messages, instant messages, or to blog entries or websites dedicated solely to tormenting an individual. Some states approach cyberharrassment by including language addressing electronic communications in general harassment statutes, while others have created stand-alone cyberharassment statutes.

He could get a lawyer and sue you and maybe win, also if he kills himself or even attempts to you could be facing jail time. I'd say it isn't worth the risk and would take it down.
