My xbox 360 can connect to live but i cant play online?

Ok i have the wireless adapter and it connects to the available network just fine. Here's the problem, i can use the facebook application and get on marketplace and buy things just fine, the problem is i cant play any of my games online. I can't connect to any party me or my friends try to make or join, cant play the same game together like halo reach online, my NAT is open and i don't know what to do.

For a while my xbox's wireless connection (or lack of it) was annoying, so I switched to using a wired connection; it's never failed.
