How do I disable being notified for EVERYTHING someone does on Facebook?
I don't mind getting notifications for the usual things, like when people do things on Facebook that are related to me, as in like something of mine, comment on something of mine, tag me in things, etc. etc. etc., however, just recently, Facebook started sending my notifications for EVERYTHING. They send me a notification every time each individual person posts a picture, updates their status, comments on OTHER people's stuff, etc. etc. etc. I am finding myself logging onto Facebook and having close to 100 notifications a day because they notify about every little piece of activity in the news feed. I don't understand why. I have clicked on the little "Earth" logo at the top to see your notifications and went to "See all notifications" and noticed I have the ability to click a little X there, however, my only option is to "Mark as spam", not to disable that type of notification. When I go to Account Setting--->Notifications, I find nothing in there either. Everything seems to be set up for me to only get the ones I want, but I am still getting EVERYTHING any one single person does! If you have ever noticed, the icons for notifications are as follows:
When someone "likes" something it's the little blue thumb When someone comments on something, it's the little green speech bubble When an event is updated or you are invited, it's the little red & white calendar page What I am trying to get rid of shows a little white page with a big yellow star in front of it. Never seen it before, and do not want to get a notification for these things. The ones listed above, I do want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, because I can't open up Facebook to find 100 notifications. It is way too hard to sort between which ones are notifications relating to something of mine, or just notifications that someone updated their status, or posted a photo, or shares a link...etc. etc. I sure hope this makes sense. Please help!!! THANKS! Doesn't unsubcribing make their posts not come up on the news feed either though? Ads |
