Getting rid of facebook application invites?
Okay, so I think all of the facebook applications are stupid. If I wanted myspace, I'd have an account. But is there a way to opt out of invitations (from friends) for new applications? They're really annoying (and as I said before, stupid).

When you click on a request to view it, they all come up. You will see there are 2 links with each - one to add it, and one to ignore. Click ignore and they'll disappear.

I've been trying to get rid of the invites as well, but it seems as though there is no way to disable them. Hopefully there is something in the near future though.

If you figured out how to disable them, you'd be one popular person. They are extremely annoying to most people, but there's not a whole lot you can do about them. You can click "Ignore", but that only gets rid of that one invitation, not to any future invitations for the same application.
When people add these applications, they try and get you do send invites to everyone they know. There's usually a big button saying "INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!" and then in small letters at the bottom "Skip this step". So most people just click the button, automatically sending invites to random people.
Here are two groups I've come across who are also fed up with applications (there are many, I'm sure):
-- Dear Facebook, You have too many applications. Signed, Everybody--
--This has got to stop.-- It has over 169, 000 members- you're not the only one!
