If my twitter profile is set to private, can those who don't follow me reply me?
My twitter profile is set to private. I was just wondering, if I were to @mention someone whom I follow but doesn't follow me, can they actually reply?

No, since they won't be able to see your tweets. When your account is private only the people you let follow you will be able to see your tweets. At least that's what I understand.
