how do you deactivate a facebook account?

i had a facebook account, then i made a new one since a game caught my eye, but i had an account for it already. but now, i get oo much notifications! so i want to deactivate it, someone please help me!

you can deactivate it, but you can easily log on again as if nothing has happened, if you want to delete it, you have to look through the facebook help centre, otherwise they keep all of your data =/

If receiving notifications is the only problem of yours. No need to delete your account. Else you can make changes to your account.
