Why can't people retweet my tweets on twitter?
I protected my tweets for a while but they're unprotected now and it STILL won't let people retweet my tweets. 10 points best answer!

Encrypted Email ExchangeSend Email and Print For many, being unable to send tweets, retweets or direct messages on Twitter greatly affects their social life. If you are experiencing an issue that is preventing you from sending tweets, take a look at common causes to determine the problem. The solution may be as simple as a browser refresh, navigating to a different page or waiting an hour before posting your tweet.

Unable to Retweet
If you're attempting to retweet a comment from another user and are unable to do so, a probable cause is that the user has a protected account. Tweets from a user with a protected account show in your timeline if that user has accepted your follow request. However, that user has chosen not to have his tweets retweeted. If you see the lock icon next to a user's name, the account is protected. It is also important to note that you are unable to retweet from the list view and from Twitter search. You must view the individual tweet to retweet from within Twitter Lists and Twitter Search.

"Duplicate Text" Error
Receiving the "Duplicate Text" error when attempting to tweet means you've tweeted the exact text previously. If this happens, change the wording of your tweet or try another tweet. Remember, you only receive this message when attempting to post the exact same text as you have previously.

Unable to Tweet
If you're receiving an error message stating "Sorry! We did something wrong. Try sending your tweet again in a minute" check to make sure you're not running any add-ons or plug-ins that may interfere with Twitter. Refresh your browser if needed. According to Twitter, this is a known issue that is remedied by taking the previous steps. If you're still unable to tweet, send a message to Twitter, including your username, the browser and browser version you are using, and the text of the error message. Use the support form found at support.twitter.com/forms/general to send the message.

Twitter Limits
Extremely active Twitter users may encounter an error message due to limits put in place by Twitter. If you've tweeted the daily limit of 1,000 tweets, you are unable to tweet again for the rest of the day. Like daily tweets, direct messages are also limited to 250 per day. If you've tweeted actively but not 1,000 times for the day, it is important to know that the daily limit is further broken down into semi-hourly intervals. Wait a few hours before attempting to tweet again
