How to get emails about concerts in my area?

I live in Long Island and go to school in Delaware. I want to find a website that will e-mail me if any of my favorite rappers is doing a concert around Delaware or New York. I love a about 50 rappers, so I don't want to have to sign up for emails on each individual rapper's website. I heard ticketmaster and stubhub are good, but they don't tell you about every concert. Please help.

This is exactly the kind of thing that Twitter and RSS are used for.

Simple solution: sign up for Twitter and follow your favorite rappers, keeping an eye out for mentions of concerts in your area. Most of them should be posting on the service.

More complicated solution: if you want to get a bit more specific than that, it'll likely cost money. There are some commercial services (like "Feed My Inbox") which allow you to collect various RSS feeds and automatically filter them for keywords ("Delaware", "New York", "Concert" , "Show"), and then send anything that matches those keywords to you via email.

But honestly, your best bet is to just make liberal use of Twitter. Many phones have Twitter clients so you can access this wherever you are. If you already use Twitter and don't want to sort through all the people you are following, create a List, such as "Concerts" and add those specific people to said list. That'll make it a lot easier to follow them.
