Do you have the INQ Chat 3g?
I was thinking about getting this phone through Telus. I would not be purchasing data to use this as a smartphone, just using it to text and call. I've read reviews and heard that this phone is slow for web surfing, but I wouldn't be using it for this. Is it otherwise a good phone for texting? (does it receive picture & video messages and stuff?)

And also is there a way for me to prevent having facebook messages, status updates, etc being sent to my inbox, so I could only have texts in the inbox?

And also what is the max. character limit when texting?

Okay, I think that's all, Thank you!

This phone is wickedly slow at doing everything. IMO, don't waste your money.

I've had mine for 4 months, got it free from Telus in Ab. with a 2 year contract! It's great for texting and chatting; also popped a mini SD card in that was preloaded and easily accessed all the photos and music on it.
Very clear reception, I've had several comments when talking to others that I sound loud on this phone. Better than quiet, just turn down your volume.
There's a 160 character limit with texting.
I opted to not get the data package, so if you don't set up your email, fb, twitter or skype accounts on it, there's no worries with your inboxes or any unwanted surprise billing charges
Both Telus and our local mobile phone agent say I can use this phone on wifi. I haven't succeeded yet and all the internet searching I've done say it won't work on wife??

For making calls and texting. Its great, but I'm thinking that's about it. It looks good, feels good, and the full keyboard is nice....oh, I wish it had a few more characters on the keypad like "&".

I dont find it slow at all, though I haven't used it online.
