Why do i get these emails?

When i haven't been on myspace, twitter, or facebook for a while i get an email saying they've missed me or to reconnect with my friends. Then when i get back on facebook i get another email saying that i've been there!!!!!! Why do they do this? Also on myspace when i get a friend request if i ignore it i have a limited time to mark it as spam. Why is this?

I know that bothers me too. They're too bored so they're filling our inbox. I hate when I log in my e-mail after a week and I have 600 messages saying me that someone commented on my photo or posted alink to my wall or... etc. You can stop that by going into "options" on community pages and then set to not e-mail you when certain thing happens. And if you bothered by "we miss you" messages just spam and delete -.-' Good luck
