My laptop screen went black and a blue message popped up ?

I was just on doing the basic stuff ( checking Facebook,twitter, tumbler etc) And then my whole screen went black and a blue message popped up and then my whole computer shut down before i had time to read it ! Any ideas WHAT happend ?thanks

Your laptop's Hard Drive most likely is going out. I would advise you to back up all your data before it fails completely.
Laptop's processor and RAM can also give BSOD ("blue screen"), but the hard drive is the most common issue (and it is also the easiest to trouble-shoot). You might want to take it to a repair shop for diagnostics though, just to eliminate any other possible issues.
